Malyk Jones how is your season going so far?
As a team it’s been pretty good. Obviously disappointed with the lost to Lincoln Way East but happy to be eligible for the playoffs again. I feel like I have definitely improved from last year, but still a long way from where I want to be at.
How did it feel to get the win against Bolingbrook?
It was a good all around team victory. It was a battle from start to finish. That's what you expect in a rivalry game. In the end our defense stepped up and made big time stops when it mattered most.
What schools have you been talking to so far?
Boston College, Iowa, and Upper Iowa University. Nothing too concrete at the moment.
I went to Notre Dame Camp over the summer. I've been getting a lot of mail from most of the Big Ten schools.
What should college coaches know about you?
I would say that I am a hard worker. I will out grind and out work everyone. I study the game and constantly working to elevate my game. I'm a great teammate and very coachable. I want a Coach to give me feedback positive and negative.
What has been your favorite memory so far this season?
It would have to be our first scrimmage back during summer camp. I felt like maybe some people were starting to have doubts about us, but we got to see how good we really had the potential to be. It was good bonding time with the team too.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?
Without a doubt my quickness and my ability to finish tackles/plays.
