Michael Manning DT/NG Benet Class of 2021 5'10 185
Michael Manning how is your season so far?
So far so good, we’re off to a impressive 6-0 start and we’ve got plenty of room for improvement. As for me I think I’ve gotten off on a good start and it’s fun to play with the team around me.
What has been your favorite memory so far this season?
It’s gotta be Week 1 vs Naperville North. Not only did I get the chance to play against my brother for the first time, but I also got a sack on the second play of the game which was pretty sweet.
What does playing nose guard mean to you?
It means a lot. I really didn’t start playing nose guard since freshman year but ever since than I’ve fell in love with the position.
What do you like about playing in the trenches?
I mean the trenches is where games are won and lost. You might not get all the glory at times but in the end you know what you’ve done made a difference. It takes a special sort of toughness to play in those trenches.
So what do you see in this Loyola team for the upcoming Saturday game?
It’ll be a challenging game no doubt but I also see it as a game to really prove who we are. We believe we have a good team and we gotta go out on Saturday and prove it.
Toughest OL you went up against so far this season?
I would probably say St. Lawrence. They had some big boys but it was nothing I wasn’t used too, thanks to my O Line that I go against every day in practice.
