Corties Draper Class of 2020 Elmwood Park LB 6'1 195

Corties Draper how has your first 3 weeks been so far?

It’s been great. I’ve been able to come out and really showcase my abilities on defense, and how versatile I am by being able to go out on offense and preform too. I’ve been able to build chemistry with a lot of my teammates early on because most of us have been playing together since kids. We had a small set back in our game against Lisle but we’ve learned from it and got better. The first three weeks have been a good start to the season and I’m eager for what awaits.

What does football mean to you?

It means everything to me. I truly started to commit to football my 8th grade year. Since it has changed my life completely. It taught me that if you work hard you can overcome anything and beat the odds. It taught me the importance of consistency and dedication. It honestly made me who I am and is a big reason why I have been able to accomplish a lot of the things I have off the field.

How good can this Elmwood Park team be?

We can be as good and go as far as we let ourselves. Every practice, every game, and every down we are playing against ourselves. How can we do our job every play, and how can we be better than ourselves last game and even last play? We are still learning and beating our yesterday selves. If we keep working hard and strive to better ourselves then the sky is the limit for us.

What do you see in this St. Edward squad for Friday?

They’re a solid group, but we been working hard and studying a lot of film. They switch up there offensive formations constantly and have a variety of offense packages. We have been practicing tirelessly on our assignments and jobs to make sure we are prepared for this week. We’ve broken down their defense to see what they leave open on offense and If we keep practicing the way we have we will be sound come Friday.

What schools have you been talking to so far?

I’ve only been talking upper Iowa as of right now but it’s early on in the season and I’m expecting more good games to come and I’ll have the ability to talk to more schools.

What should college coaches know about you?

I’m a side line to side line player. I am a open field tackler and able to read the offense. I have good football IQ and comfortable playing zone and man. I give 110 percent to everything I do and have the stamina to go both ways. I will play any position and do whatever is needed to help my team win.
