Taven Washington RB/ATH Plainfield East Class of 2021 6'1 190

Taven Washington how was your 2018 season?

Although our 2018 season did not go as planned, there were a lot of bright moments and memorable big plays that showed we have potential. Individually I took this time to continue to grow as a player and teammate. To continue to work along side of some seniors who eventually would go on to play ball at the next level. With the continue push from all my coaches, especially Coach Edwards, I felt I made the best of every opportunity that was given to me in 2018.

Favorite memory of 2018?

Answer: To be honest with you my most favorable moment came at the end of the season after our final game was over. Several of the upperclassmen had come up to me and told me that, its my time now to step up and lead. I was humbled by that. For them to say I was one of those players that could continue to make an positive impact on the teams future, by way of my handwork and leadership on and off the field was truly special to me.

How has your college camp season been so far?

I have a few more to get to but thus far camp season has been great. I continue to get invites to some good camps that will allow me to showcase my talents. Trying to learn as much as possible from the coaches so I can perform better on the field. I really enjoyed University of Notre Dame, Next Level Rise & Fire and the University of William and Mary out in VA.

What schools have you talked to so far?

Wayne State, NE, Trinity International, William and Mary, Concordia University, Virginia University of Lynchburg and Olivet Nazarene

What should college coaches know about you?

That I am an extremely hard worker and strive to not let anyone out work me. I feel I am a very coach-able player and quick learner. I like to compete at everything I do... on and off the field!

Your strongest trait on the field is?

I take pride in leading by example and giving full effort in supporting my teammates. I will give my all for my team and coaches so that we can be successful.

What part of your game have you been trying to improve in the offseason?

Speed and agility, especially jump cuts then explosion. And lot of strength training and conditioning.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

I have several goals, 1,000 yards rushing and I would like to obtain the schools single season touchdown record. But ultimately, its to do what I can to help my team have a winning record and hopefully go deep into the playoffs. It would be great to have a run at a state championship before leaving Plainfield East.
