Ben Kuefler Naperville North LS/OL Class of 2021 6'0 230
Ben Kuefler how was your 2018 season?
My season went well, I played long snapper and center. Although we didn’t get as many wins as we anticipated, this season served as a year for us to bond and fix issues as a team.
How has your summer college camp season been so far?
Well, I’ve decided to dedicate this summer to long snapping camps. I just attended the Lindenwood mega camp and performed well. I still have multiple camps coming up this summer (Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Iowa, and the Kohl’s National Scholarship Camp)
What game are you excited the most for this season?
Definitely our game against Naperville Central, it is the biggest game in Naperville and it’s going to be fun to play against former teammates.
What do you like about long snapping?
One of my favorite things about long snapping is the rush I get after snapping a fast, clean ball. Snapping has taught me many valuable lessons that I can use both on and off of the field.
Im visiting your camp soon... Who should I be on the lookout for on the line?
We have a lot of lineman who have potential to be great. In terms of seniors, CJ Kuhter is a big and powerful guy who is going to be a key component to our defense. One of 2021’s hardest workers is Ethan Hilgert, he’s an extremely fast and strong lineman who is going to help us big time. But like I said, a lot of junior and senior lineman have potential to be great this season.
What should young football players know about long snapping?
It’s not going to bring you the “clout” that playing other positions will get you. But it’s an important position and every football team needs to have someone who can snap the ball. It’s a great skill to learn and if you get good at it, you’ll be receiving a lot of attention from colleges around the nation.
