Marquese Garrett welcome back, How was your 2018 season?
I feel as if the season was great you know we accomplished some things that we as a team wanted. I made small buzz but im not done yet i have a lot to prove and just working and progressing everyday
What was one of your favorite memories of last season?
Playing our rival in dgs its always a great atmosphere and tension between us and for me to able to put up 5 tds against them, and prove a point was huge
What schools have you been talking to so far?
western michigan has shown the most interest along with niu , illinois, eastern illinois, university of ohio, denison, and notre dame
What part of your game do you feel you improved from last time I talked to you?
my ability to understand the game mentally and being able to become an ultimate threat to defenses but i know their is a higher ceiling for me in that category. ive also been able to progress in the way that i can lead my team and make them believe no matter the situation. my throwing ability and accuracy is something that has gotten better game by game and will continue to do so
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
this is my last season as we know and its something to ultimately accomplish that “hey, marquese garrett left defenses sleep deprived before games” i wanna leave a mark on illinois football. i want college coaches to really take account of what i can do for a team and organization and first ill apply that to hornet nation we will be great. i have no doubt in mind that when all said and done im one of the best players in the state of illinois if not one the nations best upside type players a college team could have. its simple to give all i have
Whats your favorite pregame meal?
spicy Italian 6 inch sub with hot cheetos, and a cleanse of a bottled water and gatorade and im ready
