So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Bryce Legan Class of 2020 Linebacker Fenwick 6'2 205
Bryce Legan how was your 2018 season?
I thought my 2018 season went well. I learned a lot through moving around on our defense playing outside linebacker, inside linebacker, and stand up defensive end. I feel much more improved by playing some of the toughest competition in Illinois last season and can’t wait to play some of those same teams this next season with a much more fired up team at Fenwick.
What schools have you talked to so far?
I’ve been fortunate enough to talk Brown University, Minnesota State, Bowdoin, and University of Chicago.
What should college coaches know about you?
Football is always my priority and the center of my life. I work hard in the classroom and in the weight-room so I can put myself in the best possible position for Friday Nights. Off the field, I try to be the best possible leader and teammate I can be; I want to make everyone know how equally important they are to success of the team. On the field, I love to run around and hit people.
What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?
This offseason I have been working on my strength, flexibility, footwork, and speed. This season I realized how important it is to have your body in the best possible shape and I hope my work in the offseason will benefit me greatly once Week 1 rolls around.
What goal do you have for yourself this season?
hope that this season I will play well enough to earn both All State and Conference DPOY, but more importantly I hope that I can help lead Fenwick to another State Championship run similarly to how the 2016 Friars did when I was a freshman.
What is your strongest trait on the field?
My strongest trait on the field is my leadership and how vocal I am. As a junior last season I called the defense and it helped me greatly in becoming louder and a clearer communicator to my teammates. I also believe one of the strongest traits of my leadership is that I won’t back down to anybody, and I try to show my teammates that in order to fire them up as well.
What does your summer college camp schedule look like?
This summer I will be attending the Northwestern, North Central, and the Brown University camps. I am excited to run around and show colleges what I can do.
