Darius Hunt Evanston Class of 2020 ATH 6'1 170

Darius Hunt how was your 2018 season?

Overall it was great season with the seniors. My class especially has learned a lot from them and how they led. Even if it didn’t turn out how we wanted to in the score against Edwardsville we as a whole got a lot out of the season.

What does football mean to you?

Football means a lot to me. This has been the sport I’ve grown to love to play through adversity and all. The brotherhood what really gets me because there is nothing like it in any sport.

What schools have you talked to so far?

Carroll, Knox College,St Valor, Maria University (Florida), Minnesota State Moorhead, Carthage, Judson , Mckendree, Sterling College

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

Im a hard worker and expect everything to be earned. I will never take no for an answer. Im always going to try to be the best and succeed, but if I fail I’m going to fail hard giving 100%. And lastly I’m dependable to coaches and to my teammates

How is volleyball season going for you?

Right now currently we are in a rough patch in the first half due to major blows in injuries. But nobody should count us out of the race yet because we’ve all played on a Vortex together (our club team). Once everyone's healthy again I believe we can turn some heads. Only thing standing in the way is us.

How has Volleyball helped your Football skills?

It has taught me a new way of thinking. Its not about the fire, and intensity all the time. It’s more of how you listen and react to certain situations because anything can happen. My club coach Ed even had to tell me a couple times it’s not like football you have to move on quickly to the next play there are no pauses; so you can’t harp on one play, you have to be ready for the next.

Funniest Evanston coach is?

It would have to be Coach Conley (aka bald headed Eddie). I love that man to death he’s like my second dad. Just don’t argue with him about wearing camo.
