Thomas Monken Class of 2020 Vernon Hills QB 6'1 175

Thomas Monken how was your 2018 season?

It didn’t turn out the way I hoped record wise, but I learned a ton that will help in this upcoming year.

So new school Vernon Hills, What excites you about this program?

I’m excited with what I’ve seen so far in the weight room and the people that I’ve met. I’ve been able to work with a lot of people since coming here, and can’t wait for the season. I also really like the offense that the coaches have put together.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I’d like coaches to know that I’ve grown up around football my whole life. My brother played QB at ULM and Missouri State. My grandpa and all of his brothers are coaches. My Uncle Todd is the OC of the Browns and Cousin Jeff is the head coach at Army. Most importantly though, I don’t care where or what level I play at, I just want to play ball.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?

I’ve been working on footwork, consistent release point, and gaining strength.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

I want to win the conference and make a run in the playoffs. Personally, I just want to get better at reading defenses and getting the ball out of my hand quicker.

What game are you most looking forward to this upcoming season?

Week 1 Grayslake Central. I’ve been waiting since the end of last season and can’t wait to get back on the field.

Favorite route to pass to is?
