Ben Furtney Class of 2020 St.Charles North LB 6'1 215
Ben Furtney how was your 2018 season?
I thought it went great. Our team had a very successful season and was a great story for our program. Personally I thought I played very well. I think I successfully showed my strength, speed, agility, power, and route covering. It was a great experience getting all the way to the State Championship and we were able to do what the program had never done before.
What schools are you talking to?
Right now I’ve been talking with about 15-20 schools. They are from the MAC, Ivy, Patriot League, Missouri Valley, and a few more from other conferences.
What schools have you visited so far?
This past year I have visited Michigan State, Eastern Kentucky, Cincinnati, Harvard, Western Michigan, NIU, Miami of Ohio, Indiana State, and Southern Illinois. I’ve received more invites and plan to go on more visits.
What would like college coaches to know about you?
I have a great football IQ and will do whatever it takes to win. I am mentally and physically tough. I am someone who puts there head down and gets to work. I am also a leader on and off the field and am a great student in the classroom.
What excites you the most about this upcoming season?
I am really excited to get back to work and get to the State Championship again. We have a great incoming junior class with a lot of potential and talent. I’m excited to get my senior year started and have a great season with the team.
What game are looking most forward to this upcoming season?
There’s a number of games I’m excited about but I’m most excited for the game that gets us a ticket back into the playoffs.
Best part of playing for St. Charles North football is?
There’s a lot of little things like running through that tunnel with the town behind you and the process we go through as a team each year but I’d have to say the best part is playing for what we stand for. It’s leaving the jersey in a better place than the year before. It’s doing it for the guys before us and the guys on the team now.
