Cole Yocum Class of 2020 DeForest (WISCONSIN) 6'2 197 ATH/DE/TE
Cole Yocum how was your 2018 season?
It was great had a lot of fun with a great team! I didn’t play good the first half of the season. Like I wasn’t really making plays but then last 5 games of the season I picked up my play a lot.
What was one of your favorite memories last season?
My big hit I had in our first playoff game against Holmen. They lined up for a deep field goal with 5 seconds left before the first half ended. It ended up being a fake and I read it perfectly saw the holder roll out. So I just launched myself towards him and popped him. It was the last play before half so it gave our team a lot of energy running off the field going into the second half.
What should college coaches know about you?
That I’m a very hard worker, I love the weight room, I’m not a guy that’s all talk I’m a guy that leads by example, I put the team first, and I love football
What schools have you talked to so far?
I have visited Winona State and Minnesota state Moorhead. I plan on visiting Minnesota state Mankato. But other schools that have invited me to junior days but I couldn’t make it are: North Dakota, Sioux Falls, Saginaw Valley state, and Minnesota Crookston. I’ve also been talking to: Northern State, Upper Iowa, Illinois State, Michigan Tech, Augustana, and Northwest Missouri State.
What do you like about playing defensive end?
It’s just so much fun! Like rushing the passer is the best thing in football. It’s way better then blocking someone, catching a pass, throwing a pass, running with the ball, etc.
How does DeForest look this season?
We should be one of the best teams deforest has had in a long time. We have high expectations for ourselves. We are returning 16/22 of our starters from last year. We are ready to turn some heads and to earn people’s respect.
Who are some DeForest players I should be on the lookout for this upcoming season?
We have a lot. I’ll list a few: Colby Hartig, Trey Schroeder, Edwyn Erickson, Lane Larson, Devin Morand-Rivers, Marlon Cystrunk, Evan Armstrong, and Trey Warne. Like I said many more too
