Cameron Kirkpatrick Edwardsville DL/OL/TE Class of 2020 6'4 240
Cameron Kirkpatrick how was your 2018 season?
My Season was great. I started off the year at defensive end, and then played the second half of the season as left guard. I think I grew a lot as a player and leader.
What position do you feel most comfortable in?
I feel very comfortable at tight end, and defensive end.
What schools have you talked to so far?
I have talked to Drake University, Fordham University, Augustana University, and others.
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I consider myself to be a very versatile athlete that can play many positions, and I enjoy the process of improving my game.
What do you think is your strongest trait on the field?
I think I have a great knowledge of the game and desire to win. I believe my competitive nature has led me to defeat even the best of opponents.
If you could schedule one game-Who would it be and why?
I would love nothing more than to play either CBC or Loyola Academy again. Whenever we have played those teams we have always been the underdog, but each time we should have won the game, so I’d just love another chance at that.
What is one thing you think people dont understand about Edwardsville football or get wrong?
I’ve seen all levels of high school football in Illinois, and I believe Edwardsville is one of the most slept on schools in the state. Because we are in 8A, everyone thinks that we can’t compare to the Chicago schools, but year after year we prove that we can hang with even the best of teams, like CBC and East St. Louis.
This is your Senior Season upcoming... What do you tell incoming tigers about the program?
I tell them that they really just need to fall in love with the process, and working hard. Edwardsville doesn’t produce the flashiest talent, but we win games by out working the other team and being more physical. Nothing comes easy to us and we have to earn our spot.
