Garrett Gunter Class of 2021 Sesser-Valier ATH 6'1 190

Garrett Gunter how was your 2018 season?

Pretty good season. I got All-Conference Honorable Mention. As a team, we were 7-3 with losses to Chester and Fairfield, who both had good runs in the playoffs, in the regular season. Then eventually lost to Carrollton in the playoffs.

What does football mean to you?

It means a lot to me. I love going out on the field with some of my closest friends and especially my brothers. I got to play with two of my older brothers and they have truly taught me a lot. The enjoyment of competing with my teammates is amazing. Every Friday night is a feeling I will never forget.

What excites you the most about this upcoming season?

I’ve got a lot of experience from last year and I am excited to show people more from me. We’ve got a lot of guys coming back from last year and they are as excited if not more than I am. Also a lot of guys have been working hard in this offseason so I am excited to see them excel.

What game are most looking forward to this upcoming season?

It’s hard to decide between Chester and Fairfield. Chester beat us at their place this past season so I am definitely seeking some redemption. Fairfield has been the conference champions for the past couple years and it is definitely one I will look forward to every year. There is a great atmosphere in both games every year.

Who on Sesser-Valier should I be on the lookout for this upcoming season?

Peyton Bates and Tanner Eubanks. They are both All-Conference selections and Tanner is a All-South player also. Peyton is our QB and has a lot of experience from last year. Tanner is our WR and free safety with experience as well.

What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

Getting First Team All-Conference and All-South on either side of the ball. Also, helping the team win conference and possibly a big playoff run.
