Chris Clarke LTHS WR Class of 2020 6'3 185

Chris Clarke how was your 2018 season?

It was a tough season. Our team had a lot of injuries and finished 1-8, obviously not what we were hoping for. This season was my second year playing football and I even though we didn’t win like we wanted, I still enjoyed the season a lot. I had a good season playing receiver and safety along with punter and kicker. I was also named All-Conference for last season.

What excites you most about the upcoming season?

I’m excited to play for our new coach and comeback from 1-8 season and make the playoff. I look forward for the lifting and hard work this offseason to pay off and help my team win as much as I can. Also as it is my senior year, I look forward to competing and having fun on Friday nights.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I’ve talked to Columbia, South Dakota State, Bowling Green, University of Chicago, Princeton, and a few other schools.

What should college coaches know about you?

That I’m a hard worker, competitive, and very coachable. I work hard not only with football, but in the classroom as well. I love to compete in everything. I’ve played baseball, basketball, and even soccer freshman year and I loved competing in every single sport.

Tell me what was one of your best games of the season?

I would say the most memorable one was against Glenbard West. On offense we were moving the ball well with our passing game. I had a lot of short routes for first downs, and we were moving the ball. Also, to end the half our junior quarterback Blaise Reichert threw a great ball to me for a 45 yard touchdown, and I hit the extra point after. Another play I remember from that game was a snap over my head on a punt that I recollected and got downfield, but I also drew a penalty from Glenbard to get us the first down. Even though we didn’t win the game, we showed what we can do on the offensive side.

Who is the funny guy on the Lyons team?

I would say Tay Dextra was the funniest kid this year. He was always in a good mood and saying something funny or stupid that everyone would laugh at. He’ll be missed this next season.

Who are some players on Lyons I should be on the lookout for this upcoming season?

Sam Rodriguez for sure, he had an ankle injury early in the season that kept him out all year. I expect him to have a great returning season, and I know he wants to play at the next level. Other key players with be Aidan Kelly, Zack Janicki, Max Stomberg, and Blaise Reichert. Also a sophomore next year Trell Harris might get some good varsity minutes.
