Lawson Ludwig Class of 2020 Waunakee DB 5'11 170

Lawson Ludwig how was your 2018 season?

The 2018 season was kinda tough for me because I sprained both my ankles. My right in week 2 and my left in week 10 so throughout the season I was playing through some pain and I wasn’t at full speed.

Favorite memory of the season?

My favorite memory of the season was walking out the state semifinal game again Brookfield central in an absolute blizzard and feeling really lucky to still be playing football at this time of the year.

What does football mean to you?

Football signifies a second family to me with all me teammates and also signifies hard work. Football is one thing that I strive for absolute greatness while training and playing it. Anything about football brings me happiness.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I have junior days coming up at Winona state and MSU Morehead. I have also talked to NDSU, Drake University, Ripon College

What should college coaches know about you?

They should know that I am a hard worker. They will never need to tell me to work harder. Also I just love the game and I will do anything to help the team. I’m not set on playing a certain position, I will do what the team needs.

How does Waunakee look this upcoming season?

I think we look very good. We lost a lot of good players from last year but I don’t think that is going to hurt us. I think all the underclass kids from last year learned a lot about work ethic and about the game from the last year seniors and we will be just as good if not better than last year.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

My goal is first to help the team as much as possible. But also to become a good leader on the team. I want to be All-State this season and stay injury free.

Who are some players on Waunakee that I should be on the lookout for?

I think that senior linebacker Jeb Frey will have an outstanding season along with senior Defensive lineman Gaje Hughes and one from the offense would be junior Quarterback Caden Nelson.
