Hayden Nelson Class of 2021 DE/ER Brookfield Central (WISC) 6'4 235

Hayden Nelson how was your 2018 season?

I thought the 2018 season was successful, we didn’t finish the year like we wanted to but we had a good year. It was a good year for me in terms of adjusting to the level of play and getting better overall.

What schools have you talked to so far?

So far, I’ve talked to Northwestern, Wisconsin, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota, Michigan St, North Dakota St, SDSU, Kent state, Western Michigan, and a few others. I have received interest from other schools, but those are the ones that have come in to my school to talk.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would want coaches to know that I’m a hard worker, and that I have a competitive edge that pushes me to become a better player. I hate losing, so I do everything I can to win. Most importantly, I love the game of football.

What does your college camp schedule look like?

I’ve talked to a couple schools and plan on going to the Northwestern camp, Iowa camp, and Wisconsin camp. My dad sent some emails with my film to a few schools and got an email back from Alabama and Ohio State, so I’m also planning on going to those camps as well.

So how does Brookfield Central look this season?

I think we are gonna have another great year. We got some great players coming back like Rashad Lampkin. Every year we lose players and other people have to step up, and that’s what’s gonna have to happen this year. I expect us to make another run for the state championship.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason to get yourself ready for the upcoming season?

I’ve been working hard on my strength and speed. I have been in the school weight room and working at NX Level with Brad Arnett and have gotten a lot stronger. Our team has been working on speed after school and I have improved from a 4.99 40 yard dash to 4.78 in just a few months. This summer I plan to work hard on fundamentals and technique.

What motivates a Hayden Nelson?

I would say our teams goal of winning a state championship is a big motivator, especially coming off a loss in the state championship. Also, I just love football, so I am motivated to become the best player I can possibly be.
