Thomas Cahill Class of 2021 OL 6'3 280 Eureka

Thomas Cahill how was your 2018 season?

Our 2018 season was a surprise to many people. We were a young team supposed to be in a rebuilding phase. We only had 3 senior starters. We managed to bond together and finish with an 8-1 regular season record. We won one playoff game before dropping a heartbreaker in the second round. Overall, I am extremely happy with how the season went and am even more excited about the upcoming season.

What does Eureka football mean to you?

Eureka football is a brotherhood I will forever be a part of. We always have each other’s backs and support each other through thick and thin. I will never forget what I have experienced with this team and program. Also regarding last season, I recorded 71 pancakes and was second team all HOI conference.

What should college coaches know about you?

A coach is never going to regret having me on their team and having me be a part of the program. One way or another, you’re going to be glad you gave me a shot. I’ll make you better on and off the field. I put in work during practice, in the weight room, and especially in the classroom.

What do you like about playing on the offensive line?

The feeling of selflessness and accomplishment when delivering a solid block. There is no other feeling than guiding your running back into the end zone. A lot of people thing o line is a position with no glory, but I wouldn’t be able to trade it for another position.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason to better yourself for the upcoming season?

I have been working on all aspects of my game. I have spent the majority of it working on upper body strength and increasing foot speed even more. Both have seen significant improvements with plenty of time left before the season begins

What excites you the most about this season?

The anticipation and potential of this team. We have a lot of talent coming back this season, and the sky is the limit. The community is buzzing to see how we do and it makes us very hopeful of next season’s outcome.

Who are some Eureka players that should keep an eye out for this upcoming season?

Our quarterback, Matt Martin. Our defensive linemen Andrew King and Joel Baer. Also, wideouts Reuben Roberts and Aden Sears, along with running back Hunter Gladson.

How good is Andrew King?

Andrew King is a valuable player that puts in work for the greater good of the team.
