Rayshaun Thompson Class of 2020 RB Phillips 5'11 185

Rayshaun Thompson what schools have you been talking to?

I’ve been in contact with Miami(OH), NIU, Toledo, South Dakota, Northwestern, and Columbia.

What should college coaches know about you?

I’m a young man that learns very quickly and can adapt to any circumstances. I also have high standards for myself and I set the bar as high as possible. My leadership skills are on point and my work ethic is hard to be matched.

What does Phillips football mean to you?

Phillips football means family to me. Many student athletes in our program aren’t fortunate to have what others have so we support each other. We understand that we are a unit and can overcome any obstacles if we aid each other.

What do you like about playing running back?

I love the playing running back! Being a team that heavily runs the ball is great. I get more touches and reps and I’m able to have more fun on the field. Phillips also has a history of having some of the best backs in the state and to be able to follow in their footsteps is incredible.

Greatest piece of advice you could give to incoming wildcat players?

The greatest piece of advice I can give is to build a relationship with your teammates and coaches. They are the people your will journey with through the easy and hard times. If you have that bond, there will hopefully be more times on the easy side than on the hard.

What excites you the most about this upcoming season?

Next season will be my last ride with Phillips and I’m hoping to make it my best. I’m excited about our road to state and I’m also interested to see the incoming talent we have coming in.

What do you think the biggest misconception about Phillips football is?

Some people believe that because we’re a public league school we aren’t a powerhouse. We are able to play with very high competition regardless of what anyone says.

What motivates a Rayshaun Thompson?

I do what I do for my family. Being the oldest of my siblings, I know that I have to ability to set them up for success. If I am able to accomplish my goals and achieve my objective, there will be a positive outcome for my little brothers and sisters
