Nick Plaso Glenbard South QB Class of 2020 6'2 170

Nick Plaso how was your 2018 season?

My 2018 season was a great learning experience. I had great group of teammates surrounding me, and a great coaching staff that was always very supportive and was there to help me succeed. It was our first season in the Upstate 8 Conference, and we ended up going 5-4 in the regular season and earning a playoff bid. We played some great teams and competed hard, but we as a team are looking forward the 2019 season and we have been working hard this offseason.

What was your favorite memory of the season?

My favorite memory of the season was after our final playoff game, us freshman through juniors lined up and shook the hands of every senior. It was an emotional end to the season, but I respected the 2019 class so much, because they were such leaders and were always there to put in work in the weight room and on the field. It was a great way to send off the seniors and show our respects for everything they had done to provide such a successful season.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like college coaches to know that I love the game of football. Football is a beautiful game and there is nothing better than the feeling of playing under the lights on a Friday night. I work extremely hard, in the classroom, weight room, and on the field. I work very hard to respect everybody who helps me throughout my football journey and I am never satisfied. My goal is to win a state championship.

What do you like about playing QB?

The quarterback is the leader on the field. I love the feeling of having all the pressure on my shoulders. The quarterback has a job just not to know what they have to do, but they are responsible for the other 10 players on the field with them at all times. In the end of a game or on the final play, I want the ball in my hands to make the perfect throw. It truly is the best position on the field. Every since playing Pee-Wee football I have always wanted to play quarterback and have always stuck with it.

What goal do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

My goal for this upcoming season is to be the best player I can be. I want to be a leader, and a great teammate. Our goal as a team is to win a state championship. We take the season one game at a time, so we are focused for Streamwood on August 30th. I am looking forward to that date to start my senior season, but I still have a lot of work to put in during this offseason with my teammates, and in the classroom to keep up with my grades, because school is the first priority.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I will be attending some camps and showcases this summer, so I will be looking forward to showcasing my talent and talking to some college coaches. I want love to play football at the next level, and I am enjoying my high school experience as it lasts.

Toughest part about playing QB from your perspective?

The toughest part of playing QB is being a leader and staying positive. When things go bad on the field, the team looks to the QB, so at all times you have to keep your emotions in check and be the leader your teammates can rely on. It’s a great feeling knowing your teammates can trust you, so I work hard to build relationships and bond with my teammates.
