Meet Hillcrest's Jamon Williams Class Of 2020 Defensive Back

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Jamon Williams Class of 2020 Hillcrest 5'9 148 DB/WR

Jamon Williams how was your 2018 season?

It was pretty good, I played mostly special teams. In practice I had to the opportunity to go up against Corey Crooms everyday to get myself better and got better on the field

What does it mean to have type of player like Corey to face up against?

It means a lot to me by being competitive because Corey Crooms is one of the top wide receivers in state. He is really competitive, one of the most competitive players I have ever face up against in practice. After the plays I make up on him he tells me good defense keep doing that and I’ll become great

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

Is to start my senior season with a bang, becoming a lockdown corner like Nick Lindley had in his 2018 senior season. When I got to Hillcrest I seen him make plays from the corner spot and I looked up to him, so now for this season. I want to win games for my teammates and win state to leave my high school career with a ring, and also my other goal is to become great and work harder every practice and being ready for friday games

What game are you looking forward to this upcoming season?

Brother Rice which will be week one... Had the same record as us last year and I’m hearing talks about how they are going to beat us. Because we don’t have the class of 2019 any more and they said our class 2020 is not that good. I don’t worry about the talk I just worry about playing football, so I’m ready to play Brother Rice because that’s competition for us and I feel like it’s going to be a good game

So how does Hillcrest look this season?

We are getting better everyday in the weight room, for me I say we have a chance for this team to make through the season all the way. Coach Mo tells us we need leaders and we need players to be the example of the team

What motivates a Jamon Williams?

What motivates me is that i do a countdown every week to wait for the games. Every time I step on the field I have a this energy to be in game mode not worry about nothing that is bad happening. Just worry about that I’m am blessed to wake up a Friday or Saturday game to play football

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I do very well in class my motto is family first, school, then football, because I would put my family over everything. They are the ones who were all there for me at my football games. I want the college coaches to know that I like to be competitive. I just love the game of football.. Just to be blessed and play at the next level for any coach that is interested in me
