Columbia's Playmaker RB Donavon Bieber Class Of 2020 Talks Eagle Football & Recruiting... Pl

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Donavan Bieber Class of 2020 Columbia 6'0 180 RB

Donavan Bieber how was your 2018 season?

Good, we advanced in the IHSA 4A playoffs and had a winning season, but for me personally, it could’ve been better. I only was able to play 5 games in the season due to a high ankle sprain but glad I was able to play in the two rounds of playoffs with my team.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season was beating Freeburg twice and actually being part of the action the second time which was my first game back from the ankle injury. On top of that, I didn’t realize it then, but I set a school record for most carries in a game. We won 33-14, and advanced to the 2nd round playoffs which was very memorable too.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that I’m a flexible athlete and can play where they see fit for the benefit of the team. I’ll try my best to learn that position wherever they stick me. I’m not selfish by any means. The team comes first. I just want to play football.

What game are you looking most forward to this upcoming season?

I’m most looking forward the Freeburg game because I feel they’re our new rival. Our two games versus Freeburg last season was intense.

What is one thing in your game that you want to improve during this offseason?

I’d like to improve my field of vision and my burst speed and agility for this up coming year.

What position do you feel most comfortable playing in?

I feel the most comfortable in the running back position because I’ve been in that spot ever since I started playing football so it just comes naturally when I’m back there.

What does Columbia football mean to you?

To me, Columbia Blue Pride Football means to sweat and bleed with your brothers. Going to every practice and every game, having a common goal: to get better, and play as a family, and win football games.

Give me some Columbia players I should be on the lookout for next season?

We have a lot of talented players but if I had to select only a few teammates, you should look out for Londyn Little, which is one of our big time receivers, Ronnie Hunsaker, Chase Napier, and Zack Kannewurf.
