St.Joseph Ogden's Junior Big Man Conner Hodge Talks Football

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Conner Hodge St. Joseph Ogden OL 6'2 195 Class of 2020

Conner Hodge how was your 2018 season?

We started off good the first four games, beating our rival week four. We had a rough second half but made playoff and lost first round to Monticello. We got the program back on the right track, making it to playoffs though.

Favorite memory from last season?

Week four, one of my best games and definitely a big game after losing by 40 the year before beating Unity at home and potentially ending their playoff hopes.

How does this St.Joseph team look for 2019?

A lot of young guys will have to step up but I believe in each and every guy in getting in the weight room and improving themselves this off-season. Overall, I know we will be work day in and day out and be ready to win this year.

What does football mean to you?

Football is definitely a big part of my life, growing up in a football family. My grandpa was a coach at Salt Fork High School in Catlin and is in the IHSFA Hall of Fame and pushes me to play at the next level.

Give some SJO players to be on the lookout for this upcoming season?

Definitely Quarterback Crayton Burnett and Running Back Brayden Weaver. Some of the most fearless guys I know. Always some of the most reliable guys I know.

What do you like about playing on the offensive line?

Its a hard nosed position, especially playing center you get to be the leader of the line. Every play knowing you get to go at it as hard you can trying to put other guys on their back. If you love hitting there is nothing to hate about it.

What goal does Conner Hodge have for himself this upcoming season?

To take another step in the right direction as a program and receive all area and all state. Also to catch the attention of schools this summer and next season at camps and games.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA

RESPECT THE GAME
