Jamal Johnson Lincoln Way East Class of 2021 ATH 5'9 175

Jamal Johnson how was your 2018 season?

It was a good year playing as a sophomore on varsity I definitely learned a lot throughout the year but the season didn’t go out as planned. But that’s how football goes sometimes.

What was the biggest change for you in the game when you moved up?

The biggest change for me was adapting to the speed of the game and just going against more physical opponents.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like them to know that I’m willing to go anywhere on the field that they think is best for the team and I’m a hard worker in the classroom and on the field.

How good can this Lincoln Way East team be for the 2019 season?

I believe we can be one of the best teams to walk on that field we just need to trust each other throughout the process and get it done on those Friday nights.

What position do you feel most comfortable in?

I feel most comfortable playing running back because you get the ball in your hands right away and it’s just about how you react after that point.

What player or players has been the biggest help to your transition to varsity?

Yeah there’s a lot I say the biggest was Jack Baltz those countless nights he would gather up the receivers and go over route concepts that helped a lot Also my younger brother Trey Johnson and Mason Pierre-Antoine the long summer workouts with them really had me ready for the Season

What motivates a Jamal Johnson?

What really motivates me are my parents them pushing me to be the best I can. Also my little brother because he looks up to me as a player and also a person so I want to pave the way for him.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
