Giovanni Volpentesta how was your season in 2018?
Our team wasn’t as successful as I hoped for. But I felt like I personally had a very successful season. It had its ups and downs but I really grew and developed as a player throughout the season, also earned Honorable Mention All Area
Favorite memory from last season?
Playing my first varsity game with my cousin, and beating Libertyville in overtime
What should college coaches know about you?
I have an amazing work ethic, I build off of criticism very well, I’m a versatile athlete, and I am a leader for my team. I will always be there to help keep my teammates motivated and keep their head up.
Any offseason plans this winter that are football related?
Yes. I’ve been working 3 days a week with EFT for skills and speed training. Also, I am going to be a part of EFT’s 7v7 team. I have been lifting with my teammates and will be attending the Edgy Tim MLK showcase on the 21st.
What game are you most looking forward in the 2019 season?
Deerfield
Give me a young Highland Park player I should be on the lookout for?
Freshman Evan Bloom but everyone should be on the lookout for David Crane who is a sophomore qb
What does Highland Park football mean to you?
My dad, uncle, and both cousins played for highland park and I am as well. I bleed blue and black. To me Highland park football Is about tradition and brotherhood.
