So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Danny Cronin Class of 2020 QB Fenwick 6'3 200

Danny Cronin how was season?

This season was a rough one, we had a lot of new faces on the team. The inexperience lead to a lot of mistakes, as to be expected. However, the guys should a lot of potential.

What was your favorite memory this season?

My favorite memory was beating St. Lawrence for our homecoming game. We were down 14-0 at halftime, and came back to win 28-27 in overtime. The Offense, defense, and special teams all came together in that game to fight back and win.

What do you like about playing QB?

My favorite part about quarterback is that when the game is on the line and the pressure is on, the ball is in my hands. I have the ability to make that play that leads the team to a win.

In what ways do you think you grew this season at QB?

I believe I grew as a quarterback all around. My mechanics and overall passing game improved from my sophomore year. My running abilities were the most noticeable improvement due to off season work and putting on more weight. Finally, I grew as a leader. I was voted captain, and stepped up as one of the leaders on the team.

What does football mean to you?

Football means everything to me. Since I was in first grade, I’ve played every single position. I really learned to love the game by doing so. I absolutely love football, and I don’t know what I would do without it.

Give some young Fenwick players to be on the lookout for?

Definitely be on the lookout for Bryce Legan and Tommy Dvorak. Bryce is a big and athletic kid who hits hard. Tommy is a fast OLB with a great nose for the ball. Both work hard in the weight room and classroom.

What goal do you have for yourself next season?

My goal is to win a state championship. However, selfishly, I hope to show college recruiters my athleticism and overall versatility. I believe I can play at a high level of college football at an array of positions and I hope to prove it next year.
