So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams
Charlie Salerno Class of 2019 DB Prairie Ridge 6'0 180
Charlie Salerno how was your senior season?
The season didn’t end how we wanted it to, but I loved everything single moment with my brothers on the field. Getting injured at the start of this season was hard on me, because I wasn’t able to go out and compete with my teammates. Having them by my side made it a whole lot better.
What would you tell incoming Prairie Ridge football players about the program?
It’s not all about being the best on the team or the superstar, it’s all about playing for your brother play by play, practice by practice.
What colleges have you talked to?
St. Thomas, RMU, Carthage, and Dubuque
What would you like college coaches to know about you?
I have a strong work ethic, I love compete, and I believe I can play on either side of the ball
What position do you feel most comfortable in?
Defensive Back
Favorite memory this season?
Breaking up a pass in the 2nd round of the playoffs against Jahleel Billingsley on Phillips Academy, the whole PR sideline went crazy
How good can this Prairie Ridge team be for next season?
They’re going to show up every game with a nasty attitude and are going to prove a lot of people wrong. I’m excited to watch them.
What young player should I look out for on Prairie Ridge?
Up coming junior Taighin Trost, and up coming senior Kyle Koelblinger
