So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Jay McGrath Lisle Class of 2019 QB/ATH 6'1 195

Jay McGrath how has your season been so far?

Unforgettable so far. It’s been all you can ask for being undefeated and winning conference and clinching playoffs. Still a long road ahead waiting for us though

Favorite memory so far this season?

That’s gotta be a toss up between beating Wilmington or coming back from 14 point deficit to clinch playoffs and conference with a bout 6, minutes left

What do you think is a common misconception of Lisle Lions football?

That our depth is weak year in and out due to injuries and everything but especially this year we are a very deep team.

What does Lisle football mean to you?

Lisle football describes another family and brotherhood that we all have together. Much of our team success is from our chemistry and tightness as a group and Coach Parpet does a really nice job saying “we play for the person right next to us”

Give a young and upcoming Lisle player to keep an eye out for?

Michael Walker aka “Big Mike” is a dog on defense and a full man at the age of 15

What will be the biggest challenge with Sandwich Friday night?

Keeping our intensity up all night to stop sandwich’s run game

Who is the funniest guy on the Lisle team and why?

The funniest kid has got to be Patrick Thornton, the other walk down safety in our defense. He is always making jokes and taking shots at our teammates. His nickname is the surgeon.
