Deep Dish Football GOTW OT Player Spotlight: St.Patrick's Emmett Browne Talks About The Scout Te

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Emmett Browne Class of 2019 St.Patrick DB/Funny Guy

Emmett Browne how would you describe your position on St.Patrick?

I am a scout team maniac and feel I am a pretty good locker room guy.

What does St.Patrick football mean to you?

St. Pat’s football means a lot to me. It has been in my life for as long as I can remember- going to my oldest brother’s game as a child. St. Patrick football is not only a team but a family and I strongly believe we have the best football family in the nation. I’ve met life long friends through this program and I can’t wait to finish this season strong and end the shamrock football playoff drought.

What do you see in this Niles Notre Dame team?

Honestly, I see nothing. I’ve seen a lot better. Looking forward to seeing Kurt Schmelzle play in person though. I think they are a team that we can beat.

Funniest guy in the St.Patrick lockerroom?

I can’t say there is one. We have a locker room full of character. Aidan O’Malley is one of the funniest guys I know. Jake Briskey is always cracking a joke. Mickey Leyden might be a stand up comedian one day doing impersonations. We have a pretty funny group of guys.

What has been your favorite memory so far this season?

Favorite memory has got to be camp week. Whole varsity squad slept over at school for 3 nights over the summer. We slept on the gym floor but made the most of it with water fights, video games, and some dodgeball. Team camp in Mankato, MI is up there on favorite memories too. Oh, and winning games has been pretty cool.

What would you tell a future bench/scout player who shuns the idea and would quit playing because he is not starting?

I would tell a future bench/scout player to make the most of it. Have fun because you will never be apart of anything like this again in your life. I only play on special teams but this has been the most fun season I have ever been apart of. As a scout team player you got to have fun and our scout defense certainly does. In between plays we will be dancing to the music on the speaker and always chirping at the offense. Scout teams don’t go unnoticed because you are making the starting team better.

What are your future plans after high school?

I am going to go to college and study something but I’m unsure of that as of right now. I might become a real estate agent or maybe come back and work at St. Pats.
