Talking With Sacred Heart Griffin Class Of 2020 OL Wes Hine

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Wes Hine Sacred Heart Griffin Class of 2019 6'5 270 OL

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Wes Hine will be heavily sought after during this fall and winter into spring. Total package of size, strength, center to low explosion with great hip work. Not to mention the fact that SHG is an offensive linemen factory.

What schools have you been talking to?

Right now I’m currently talking to Kentucky, Iowa, Miami of Ohio and Minnesota the most.

Favorite camp this summer and why?

My favorite camp this summer was definitely SIU’s Big Dawg Camp. The SHG lineman came along with the 7 on 7’s and I personally thought it was great team building experience

Game you are looking most forward to this season?

Rochester, we definitely have some unfinished business and it’s always a great game to look forward to during the regular season.

How good can this SHG Offensive line be?

One of the best in the State of Illinois. Every player on the line has varsity experience from last year and we all pushed ourselves to the limit this offseason. Coach Anderson and Coach Fiaush both do an excellent job at pushing us and teaching us what to do

What does the Central State 8 mean to you?

The Central State 8 is one of the best conferences competition wise in the state of Illinois. Each team all presents different challenges we need to prepare for each week. Especially with the addition of UHigh last year, it really proves the competition is real here. No one is being slept on this year.

What do you want college coaches to know about you?

I’m a fun guy but keep it serious when needed. My academics are just as, if not more, important than my athletics. Also I always try a bring an optimistic approach to everything I do. I also have a passion for Chemistry and Engineering in my future.

What do you like about playing on the line?

The trenches are where I’ve learned to find true grit, that’s what I love the most. Whoever has most determination and confidence will definitely win the battle. Also nothing feels better than pancaking someone.

Funniest Cyclone Offensive Linemen is?

Every lineman has his moments. Every bus ride and practice we’re usually laughing about something. Broeker, both Krafts, Hale, and Deaner are all up there for top spot but my favorite has to be my best friend Keenan Richardson. We go back to middle school at Christ The King and we have been making each other laugh since then.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

My goal this year is simple, win a State Championship.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA

RESPECT THE GAME
