AJ Sanya is considered one of the best running backs in the state of Illinois for 2019. Yes he is on the shorter side, but the kid makes plays and makes defenders miss.

Indiana state that’s mostly it
What should college coaches know about you?
Im a hard working running back who loves to compete most college coaches think im a bruiser but actually i have added a little finesse to my game during the off-season and I have been working on my speed so it can transfer to the next level
What does Curie Football mean to you?
Everything it’s just not a football team to me its a family a brotherhood I could’ve transferred to another school but I wanted to finish my senior year with the boys I started with and I’m happy we have a coach who understands me not only looks at me as a athlete but as a young man
New Head Coach is Arthur Ray... How has the team responded?
We responded great because he’s been in our shoes before he faced adversity and thrived through it. He came in and set the bar high and for us the seniors he has kept it real with us on all aspects of the game he tells us our flaws and how we can better them rather than just letting us think we’re doing it right.
What do people get wrong about Curie Football you think?
Most people would think since we are a 8a school we’re going to have over 100 players but that’s not the case but that’s not a excuse we will compete with our 30-40 players and still play with the best of them. Most people think we are undisciplined but Coach Ray has changed that all around
Favorite Memory from last season?
Stiff arming somebody helmet off and beating Lyons Township in the first round of state playoffs
What motivates a AJ Sanya?
What motivates me is my little brother and things I don’t want him to experience that I did such as I’ve had long time friends who lost lives to gun violence because they chose the wrong path . One thing that motivates me is my late cousin Percy Day he is the reason I changed my number from 34 to 22 because he wore that number when he attended curie and I didn’t want to be in his shadow you can say
