Talking With Marist's Star QB Michael Markett Class Of 2019
So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams
Michael Markett Marist QB Class of 2019 6'0 170
One of the top ten QBs coming out of the state of Illinois for the Class of 2019. Markett throws with great touch on the ball, and when you think you got him he can break it for big yards.
Michael Markett what schools have you been talking to?
I have been in contact with a few of the Ivy Leagues and have visited Cornell, Harvard, and Columbia. I have also been in contact with Amherst and Middlebury in the NESCAC along with a few D2/D3 schools like University of Mary and Denison
What camps did you visit this summer?
I went to North Central, Yale, Harvard, Columbia, and Cornell
So how does Marist look this season?
Good. We have a lot of guys returning and a lot of young talent who are learning first hand from those guys. I’m very excited for this team’s potential
How good can your guys passing attack be?
Very good. We have about 5 or 6 guys who will be getting catches and they all are fast and have a lot of grit. The chemistry is there as well so I think we can do a lot of things passing wise to manipulate defenses
What should college coaches know about you?
That the team will always come first and that no one will ever look to me and see nothing less than 100%
Favorite memory from last season?
Definitely the first momentum change of the Nazareth game when Charlie Laurencell returned a pick 6. He’s one of my good buddies so seeing that was awesome and the atmosphere on the sidelines was unmatched
What motivates a Michael Markett?
My teammates as well as the want to be the best self I can possibly be.
