Matt Lenti Mt.Carmel Class of 2019 DB 5'10 180

Lenti one of the top safeties in the state of Illinois for the Class of 2019. Great player that keep his hips square and makes great reads off the pass. One of the better outside blitzing safties in the Chicagoland Area.

Matt Lenti what schools have you talked to?

I have been talking to drake, dayton, valporaiso and a lot of other smaller schools.

What does Mt.Carmel football mean to you?

Mount Carmel football means everything to me. I practically grew up at the school and around the football team. I have been going to games since as long as I can remember.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory was definitely when we beat East St Louis to advance to the semifinals last year. It was a very close and intense game.

So how does Mt.Carmel look this season?

We have a lot starters coming back from last year on both sides of the ball. Our defense is looking really strong so far and our offense is continuing to get better every day.

What do you think the biggest misconception about Mt.Carmel football is?

I think the biggest misconception is that all of our players are big time recruits or prospects when in reality most of us have just worked really hard to get to where we are.

What game are you most looking forward to this season?

I’m most excited about our first 3 games. Hope, Maine South, and Loyola because i think it gives us a good opportunity to show everybody how good we are.

This is your last season of Mt.Carmel football.. What advice do you have for incoming Mt.Carmel players?

My best advice would be to listen to the coaches and to work as hard as you can. If you do those two things you will become a very good football player.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
