Meet Wheaton Academy's Steven Ryan 6'4 WR Class Of 2019

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Steven Ryan Wheaton Academy 6'4 174 WR Class of 2019

What schools have you been talking to Steven Ryan?

The top couple schools that I've been talking to are Olivet Nazarene University, Taylor University, Western Illinois University, Carthage College, and Dordt College.

How does Wheaton Academy football look?

The team is looking good. Coming off a hard year last year missing the playoffs on a last second play was certainly tough, but I know we'll be able to bounce back strongly. Our senior class is probably one of the most talented classes that WA has had, we just need to be able to come together as a team this season. We've been putting in the work to go far this year, and I'm sure we can. I'm super excited for every game, and I know the rest of my team and coaching staff are as well.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

It's important that college coaches know that I'm a leader, I'm a hard worker and willing to do what it takes to get better. I would also say that I'm very coach-able. I know I have potential that I haven't tapped in to yet which makes me super excited for the future.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

I would say that my two biggest goals this season are to score ten touchdowns, and also to help lead my team farther than we've ever gotten in the playoffs so far.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season is the Riverside Brookfield game as a whole. It was a fun game that came down to the wire, unfortunately we lost, but it was kind of my break out game as a varsity player.

Toughest group of DBs you have faced last season?

The toughest DB's were probably from Al Raby but there was great competition all around the conference.

Favorite Route to run is?

Definitely post or comeback. Our QB Ben Thorson throws the comeback perfectly.

What game are you looking most forward to?

It's really hard to pick just one but I think I have to go with our game vs Aurora Central Catholic on homecoming. It should be a great game.
