Jake Siegal is one of the better athletic ends in the state of Illinois for the class of 2019. Siegal is a player that could be utilized in so many ways at the college level. Has the speed to play linebacker, and has the frame to play end. If need be he could be utilized at tackle in a four man front. So basically sky is the limit for Jake.

How does Sycamore football look this season?

Sycamore Football is looking great this season. We have 6 returning starters on defense and we have a really explosive and versatile offense. We’ve also had an amazing offseason in the weight room. I think that missing the playoffs last season really motivated everyone to work as hard as possible to have a winning season. Overall, we’re pretty excited to see how this season plays out for us.

What do you like about playing on the line?

I like that I get to hit someone every play. I also love the 1 on 1 battle with the guy across from me, it’s like a separate game within the game of football.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season has to be the game against Yorkville. It was pouring rain and the field was all muddy, that’s why we call it the “Mud Game.” Everyone was slipping and sliding all over the field but we came together as a team and came out with the win which was a great feeling.

Favorite pregame meal?

Before every game I eat a turkey sandwich with bacon from Jimmy John’s. It’s been my go-to pregame meal throughout my high school career.

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

I would like to get at least 50 tackles this season as well as receiving all state for football and academics.
