Talking With OL Daniel Skold From St. Francis (Wheaton) Class Of 2019

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Daniel Skold Class of 2019 OL St.Francis 6'3 250

St. Francis (WHEATON)

Strong believer in what Coach Bob McMillen & Staff are doing for that program. Again its going to take some time, but him hiring a great staff of coaches helps out a lot. These are kids are buying into the program's principles and with a couple years it will show on the field.

Daniel Skold what schools have you been talking to?

So far i have been talking to Drake, Butler, Valparaiso, St Cloud State, Minnesota State along with many other division 3 schools

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I would like coaches to know thst i would bring a championship caliber work ethic. Even when we are supposed to have the day off i will be in the weight room or on the field trying to get that much better than my competition. I would want colleges to know about me is that even though i will most likely be playing left tackle this upcoming season i will most likely play center in college

How was your junior wrestling season?

This past season was great i was able to place 2nd at the CCL which is one of the top conferences in the nation, as well as make it to state. Plus i really feel that our wrestling team is on the come up and we are continuing to make great strides

How has Coach Stevenson help you in your technique?

Coach Stevenson has been fantastic if it had not been for him i wouldnt have performed even close to where i did while making the transition to left tackle my junior season. Then this summer and this past spring he has been right there helping me tweak little things to fine tune my technique. Plus he has been right there helping me with my recruiting giving me a lot of tips on what to do.

What does St.Francis Football mean to you?

St. Francis football means everything to me this program accepted me and trusted that i could play offensive line when i was 145 pounds going into my freshman year. When no other schools would have even given me the chance. From there they have helped to mold me into the player i am today. And it means the world to me that i get the chance to put on a St.Francis jersey on friday nights

You guys are trying to build a culture at St.Francis.. What would it mean for you and the senior class to get into the playoffs?

It would mean that all the time and the effort that we have all put into this program had finally paid off. I know first hand all the work that everyone has put in and everyday we are working for that goal. After two disappointing seasons it would show the process works

Name a St.Francis player that college coaches should take a look at that might not have?

I have one of each henry plamondon who is a senior that can bench over 300 and runs a 4.6 40 as well as Enzo Rendina who is a junior and was with me in the weight room everyday this past offseason and is always trying to get better.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
