Cade Cruse Marion 6'0 195
Class of 2019
Linebacker
COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE
Impressive athleticism for Cade, and ability to read his keys is what makes him a great linebacker. Coverage skills very good especially on the shorter routes ability to read the QB.
Cade Cruse what schools have you been talking to?
I’ve been in touch with Missouri Baptist University a lot, Monmouth College, Illinois College, some different NAIA, D2, and D3 schools. I have talked to coaches and players at the Naval Academy during the Summer Seminar, but nothing to serious with football
What does Marion football mean to you?
Marion football is a family for me. Most of us have been together since Junior High football and we have developed a strong brotherhood between each other over the years. It’s more than just a team
What motivates a Cade Cruse?
God, Family, and my teammates is what motivates me. Whether I’m on the field or in the weight room, I always want to work hard and do my best for the person next to me. The more I improve, the more my team improves and that is what matters most.
Favorite memory from last season?
My favorite memory would have to be our homecoming game last season. We were playing Centralia High School and we all knew it was going to be a tough game. At the time they had Javon Williams, a great Quarterback and athlete. Our defense had never had to face someone so big and fast all season, so it was a moment to test us as a team. We played hard and stayed disciplined, especially in the second half which lead to us winning the game. Not only did we win the game, but for the first time in a long time, the crowd rushed on to the field and we were all cheering as if we won a state title. I will never forget the excitement after that game
What game are you looking most forward to this season?
I’m most excited for our first game against Rochelle High School. Most people are usually excited for a homecoming game or one later in the season. The reason I’m excited for the game is because it’s on a Saturday at 1. I believe this game is really going to test how good we are as a team and how well we can handle the heat during important situations.
How fast is Stuart Adkinson?
He is honestly really fast and can be agile. I believe his fastest time was a 4.39 on his 40 yard dash. I’m pretty sure it was laser timed. He is a freak athlete and the best in the state. I would also say he is one of the best in the whole country
What should college coaches know about you?
I want college coaches to know that I’m a hard worker and a team player. I would do anything for the team I’m playing for whether it is grades, Weight lifting, film, or drills. I am a determined athlete who believes football is a team game, not a selfish game
