Talking To Lemont's Cade Campos Linebacker Class Of 2019 About Recruiting, Illinois Camp, Lemont

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Cade Campos Lemont LB Class of 2019 6'1 210

Cade Campos first to me plays fast and is one of the better coverage linebackers in Illinois. Right now he is catching a lot of looks on the recruiting trail and its well deserved.

Cade Campos what schools have you been talking to?

The schools that have shown the most interest so far have been North Dakota state, University of Illinois, Illinois State, Purdue, Holy Cross, Iowa state, and Kansas State. I’ve been in contact with other schools but those schools have shown me the most interest

How was the Illinois Camp?

Amazing, definitely my best camp so far. I ran my best 40 with a 4.58, excelled in the other combine drills, showed out during position drills, and played my heart out during 1on1 competition. It was great to finally show college coaches what I can bring to the football field

What do you want college coaches to know about you?

I want them to know that I can impact their team right away. If given the opportunity to play on the college level, I won’t let my coaches down.

So how does Lemont look this season?

Really good. I don’t know what it is but this year our whole team put up some really good numbers in the weight room. Probably some of the best numbers we’ve put up in a while. We have returning starters on both sides of the ball and our incoming varsity players look very promising. I think we have something special this year and our whole team knows it.

Favorite memory from last season?

Beating Richards. Richards was one of our most intense games we had all year and probably one of the most fun in my opinion. All my teammates were ready to go and everyone played like animals. It’s awesome to see all 11 guys play their hearts out the whole game. I knew it made our coaches proud which was a great feeling after the game.

Give me a player on Lemont that coaches need to keep an eye out for?

Can I give you a few?

Nick Stricker- our strongest player who has made incredible strides this offseason. Had the frame and size of a d1 athlete

Frankie Montalto- super dedicated who played outside backer for us last season and dominated at that position. Has the speed to make an impact at the college level.

Anthony Hanna- probably our biggest returning offensive lineman this season, also is putting up pretty insane numbers in the weight room and has the quickness a college would want in an offensive lineman Brandon Pollard- Inside linebacker who is a natural leader. Brandon knows how to get our team going and is also very aggressive and a sure tackler. Henry Roe and Anthony Sambucci- two sophomores of varsity who will be on the radar for colleges soon

What does Lemont Football mean to you?

Everything. I grew up going to the games on Friday night after school when I played football in middle school. I always wanted to play in front of the whole town. The coaches, players, and everyone who has helped me get to where I am will always be a huge part of my life.

What goal do you have yourself this season?

My individual goal would be to be the all time leading tackler for the high school, but more importantly the goal for our team this season is getting to the state championship
