So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Hezekiah Trotter Schaumburg Class of 2019 ATH 6'2 185

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Hezekiah is the real deal, and deserves more looks than he is getting. He has to be in the top 10 athletes for the Class of 2019 in the state of Illinois. Natural athlete, with fluid movements and great field vision. One of those players that can make matchup problems for defenses.

Hezekiah Trotter what schools have you been talking to?

I have been in contact with Wyoming, Missouri Western State, Winona State, University of Indy, Southern Illinois University and a couple other d2 or d1 schools. then i have picked up 2 offers from Minnesota State University and Northern Michigan.

What does football mean to you?

Thats easy! Football is my life. Its a place where i can shine. A place where i dont have to worry about anything going on in the outside world. all i have to worry about is my brothers on the field and winning. Im a competitor, i dont care what it is, if it involves competition i want to win! But the field is also a place where i can be me and grow as a man and help and lead others to do the same. We all have one goal and thats to live out a dream and football can help me put my family and friends in a better place and makes me happy. i love the game and cant get enough. Ever since i was 4 i knew this game will always have a special place in my heart.

What have you been working on in the offseason to better yourself for the upcoming season?

Definitely my speed. Being able to separate myself in open space from defenders or even beating a defender off the line getting into my route. Also i want to improve on my blocking. As a receiver/ATH i want to give my running back a clear path if he was to bounce to the outside or if he gets passed the second line of defense.

Favorite memory from last season?

Has to be the 4th quarter comeback we had against conant and being able to win in OT. I was able to get my team back in the game with a pair of touchdowns and big plays. Also i was named daily herald Mvp of the week that week so thats was a very memorable and blessed moment!

What is one thing that people might not know about you?

I had heart surgery and it was a minor step back for a major comeback. It shaped the type of person i am because at any moment the game you love playing the most can be taken away from you and i am beyond grateful to be able to still be allowed to play.

So how does Schaumburg look this season?

Really good, we are going to make a nice run in the playoffs. We have alot if playmakers where if you give us the ball in open space we can make thins happen. Also have alot of speed coming out of the backfield. Coaches are teaching us well and we wont be bowing down to any team this year.

What motivates a Hezekiah Trotter?

My family. I really just want to make them proud in everything i do. I want better for them so one day we dont have to wordy about every little thing. Also just my willingness to be great. Im the type of guy that i dont care who lines up across from me. I want to dominate you in ever way possible and thats what brings out the best in me. Makes me go hard everyday for my family, friends and the city of schaumburg. I just want to help but schaumburg back on the map and be that powerhouse school we used to be.
