So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Brandon Guido DB Class of 2019 Waubonsie Valley 5'9 165

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Brandon to me is one of the top safeties in the state of Illinois for the Class of 2019. Great job of reading the play and reacting to make the big tackle or pass deflection. Aggressive, does not hesitate and is very fluid in his coverage.

Brandon Guido what schools have you talked to?

I have talked to Drake, Holy Cross, UIndy, Dubuque, Middlebury, St Thomas and other Pioneer league schools.

How does Waubonsie Valley look for the upcoming season?

The season is looking really bright. We have key guys returning on our offense (Harper Cole, Julian Cain, Bryce Logan) and the returning guys on defense ( Avante Rogers, Carson O’donell) and the younger guys are really buying in to the process.

Favorite memory from last season?

Favorite memory was probably beating Naperville north because that was when we locked in and played our best football of the year.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I’m a great hard working that pushes himself to be the best and do whatever it takes to get the job done.

What part of your game are your working on to better yourself for the upcoming season?

The biggest part for me would probably have to be working on my breaks and punching through the ball when breaking up a pass.

Toughest WR/TE you faced last season?

Not too sure about a TE but for WR definitely Jayden Reed and Josh flowers were the best WR I went up against last year

What goal do you have yourself this season?

Definitely make the playoffs this season, coming up short last year at 4-5 definitely hurt.

What do you like about playing defensive back?

Heard a saying from Dukes Defensive backs coach and he said the best part of being a DB is you can’t complain about not getting the ball, if you want it, you have to go hunt for it. That definitely stood out to me and that being my favorite part about being a DB
