So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Cole Zaccarelli St. Joseph Ogden Class of 2019 OL/DL 6'3 220

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Cole Zaccarelli is a jack of all trades recruit, could be utilized at alot of spots on the defensive line and could be used as guard/tackle on the offensive line as well. Zaccarelli could be one of the small school risers in the state of Illinois later this summer.

Cole Zaccarelli what have you been working on in the offseason to improve yourself for the upcoming season?

The biggest thing for me this offseason has been getting strength up. As a team we started a new workout program and i’ve seen lots of gains in every area. Working on speed to get better on my edge rush and better technique in everything i do has been another main focus.

Favorite memory from last season?

Monticello game, we all fought as hard as possible throughout the game to keep the playoff streak going, and i think coming up short has made everyone a lot more motivated to work hard and do great things next season.

What do you want college coaches to know about you?

I take pride in being the hardest worker in the room and pushing others around me. I hold myself and teammates accountable for missing reps, not watching film, etc and i try to get everyone to push themselves to their absolute limits.

What does St.Joseph Football mean to you?

We have a rich history of success at St. Joseph. My freshman year I played in one of the most competitive conferences in Texas playing for Weatherford, a 6a school right outside of arlington, and coming to st. joe I see the same competitiveness and I love the expectation that everyone does great things not only on the football field but in the classroom and later on in life, everything we do at St. Joseph is extremely competitive.

Funniest guy in the St.Joseph lockerroom?

Definitely Dwight Colvin, dude is always doing something hilarious. He kept a whole peanut butter jar in his locker all football season and would take scoops out of it with his finger whenever he got hungry

Name a player on St.Joseph that college coaches should take a look at?

Conner Hodge, sophomore long snapper & center. He’ll be playing some defense this year and i think he’ll be a great edge rusher at outside backer or d end. My lifting partner everyday and knows how to work.

What game are you looking most forward to this season?

Definitely gotta go with Unity, it’s our school rival and they beat us 41-0 last year, we’re all looking for redemption

What goal do you have for yourself this season?

Improve my game a ton, prepare myself for college ball, get a ring with my team, and make my mama proud.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA

RESPECT THE GAME
