So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.
Matt Judd Lincoln Way East ATH 6'2 180 Class of 2019
Matt Judd is one of the better athletes in the state of Illinois for the Class of 2019. Can play WR and QB, and will be part of one of the best QB tandems in the IHSA with Jack Baltz.
Matt Judd what schools have you been talking to?
Recently I have been in contact with Western Michigan, North Dakota State, SIU, NIU, Michigan State, North Dakota
What does it mean to you being your last season at LWE?
It’s a weird feeling, it’s different knowing it’s your last year playing ball with your brothers you’ve been playing with since 2nd grade. So it’s sad but at the same time it’s a blessing to be able to play for Coach Zvonar and the LWE program. It teaches you so much more than just football, lessons that I will cherish for the rest of my life
What does it mean to you when someone calls you a athlete?
It’s exciting. A lot of coaches are talking to me about playing different positions on the field so it’s truly an honor to be recognized as more than just a QB or WR.
Favorite memory from last season?
Winning the state championship. Something that I have dreamed of since I started playing football and doing it with all 100 brothers made it so special. Just a moment that I will never forget
What should college coaches know about you?
I am a winner, every level of football that I have played on I have won a championship. In youth ball we won 5 consecutive championships, then when I got to high school we have only lost 1 game in my high school career so far. So I can honestly say I will put my all out there for the team to be successful and I am willing to play any position on the field.
Whats it like playing with Jack Baltz?
Jack is awesome. He’s a great teammate and such a great leader. On and off the field he leads by example and I’m excited to see where this season takes us.
