So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Ryan Laule plays till the whistle sounds, finishes his blocks on offense and closes gaps on defense. Outworks players stronger and faster than him, typical workhorse player. Kid who has the work ethic and ability to excel the teammates around him.

Ryan Laule what schools have you been talking to?

I have visited Western Illinois, heard from Bucknell and Hillsdale, and plan on visiting Minnesota Duluth sometime in the Spring or Summer

What skills have you been working on in the offseason?

This offseason I’ve been working on getting quicker, stronger, and faster with my teammates in the gym. I have also had the opportunity to work with Evan Panfil (former Purdue DE) for a chunk of this offseason and also with Ty Witt (Western Kentucky G) and Ze’Veyon Furcron (SIU DT) just trying to become more knowledgeable of the game. I have worked a lot on my defensive leverage, technique, and hips

How is Joliet Catholic looking for the upcoming season?

We have lots of experience, 4/5 of our offensive line already has 2 full years of ESCC varsity experience. Our team as a whole has a lot returning and we have the talent and camaraderie to bring the 14th state championship to Joliet Catholic

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I will be one of the hardest workers, if not THE hardest worker on the team. I am a very quick learner and I don’t only play Center but I can also play any technique on the defensive line between the tackles (0-4) effectively. I’d do anything for the team given an opportunity and I’ll never have any lack of effort or attention.

What does Joliet Catholic football mean to you?

Both Joliet Catholic Academy and the Football program have deep meanings to me. Both have so much tradition which is a big part of why I chose to attend. The Football program means a lot to me because there’s no other program in the state like it and the relationships I have created are priceless. I learned from the Hilltoppers before me and in the program there is an expectation of excellence between the lines and in life. To be a Hilltopper means to be a part of the toughest group of players in the state, just like the ones that came before.

Ryan Laule who should college coaches be looking at from JCA?

Ty Ojanovac(OL), Colin Cox(OL), Keenan Hailey(RB), Max Briscoe(LB), Fernando Chavez(LB), Kurt Weis(DB), Mundo Meyer(DB), and Matt Yankee(DB)

This is your senior season, last time you put the

brown and white on. What does that mean to you?

It’s unbelievable that I only have 1 more year of JCA football left. I feel like everything has flown by and now as we (‘19) head into our final season we get the opportunity to be the oldest kids on the field again instead of being the sophomores or juniors on the varsity field. I need to make sure I savor every time I put on the brown helmet because it will be gone in the blink of an eye. My teammates and I only have 9 guaranteed opportunities to wear the brown and white when it really means something so we will need to take advantage of each chance. This season is our chance to leave a mark, and I will play this season just as hard as the previous two, 100% effort in everything trying to reach Champaign in November. It means the world to me.
