Josiah Scott RB Class of 2019 York 5'9 160
COACH BIIG PETE'S TAKE
Josiah Scott is the player you want on your team, the kid plays multiple roles. Great hands for a running back, and ability to make defenders miss. He will be on my radar this summer camp season.
Josiah Scott what colleges have you been talking to?
I’ve been getting lots of emails recently from Cornell University, Columbia and Minnesota State Moorhead as of now . So not much but a start I kinda look as my self as a silent assassin I’m under the radar at moment.
York Football program is under alot excitement, How does it feel?
Feel great ! Honestly with this years class of 2019 mixed in with our class of 2020 I feel that we have a lot of excitement to be proud about . Especially bringing in a new and great head coach in Mike Fitzgerald. I’m just really exited for my senior year we have lots of weapons this year who we are really looking to use on both sides of the ball . Teams better look out for us we’re going to surprise a lot of people this season we’ve been working .
What is personal goal for yourself this season?
Personal goal I have for myself is being selected all conference, all state and making the playoffs this year with my boys that’s something york hasn’t done I believe in awhile so that would be great . Also picking up some offers soon is also a huge goal I have so will have to see were all this takes us . I’m also gonna try and break a couple of york records this year . If I can that’s also a big goal of myself
What is your pitch to fellow classmate/ or 8th grader to join the York Football team?
Be different. Trust the process nothing is ever going to be given it’s earned . Trust your game. Confidence is key! Just believe in yourselves and you can do anything honestly.
One thing that college coaches should know about you?
Im a very hardworking kid I’ve been though a lot in my high school career I’ve struggled with stuff outside of the football field and I’ve never quit I kept going and stayed positive because life’s to short . I give everything my all .
Give me player (S) that we should be looking out for this fall/
Zane Heemsoth, Kevon Robinson , Joe Javorek , Mikey Pedote, Aj Munoz , Josh Mathasien , Tyrone Birmingham, Ben Melion , Chris Eckard and Hayden Renier. John Milling and possibly Tyler Swick a Naz transfer. Joe Orrico too big sleeper
Favorite memory from last season?
Favorite memory from last season would have to be . The Hinsdale Central game . I didn’t play that game I was out with and injury but that was the game were I saw that we could be a great team . We were down a lot to a little against Hinsdale. And our coach put in all the juniors including Joe Javoreck (IC QB) transfer and we gained a lot of confidence at the end of that game the last 10 Min of the game even though we were getting our butts kicked. i just felt that like that was a moment that my junior class grew we stepped up. It was just a really exiting moment you had to be there to see it but it was cool and that’s why I believe we can do some special things this year
Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
