Engaging Q&A With Justin Whiteside Linebacker Homewood Flossmoor Class Of 2019

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams

Justin Whiteside Linebacker Class of 2019 Homewood-Flossmoor 6'1 200

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Justin Whiteside is another great Viking linebacker that will be heavily recruited no doubt about that. Ability to pass rush , read plays as they develop is impressive for the 2019 Class of linebackers. Whiteside is fast off the ball but if he develops his extension with blockers he could be one of the more dominate players in Illinois.

Justin Whiteside what schools have you been talking to?

I've been in contact with Central Michigan, University of Minnesota, University of Toledo, Ball state, U of I, Miami of Ohio, Southern Illinois, University of Wyoming, Kent State, i spoke with Michigan State and University of Cincinnati at my School and I've also been in contact with Some D1 FCS, D2, D3, & NAIA Schools as well. But no one has showed any serious interest yet.

What is one thing in the offseason that you have been trying to improve in your game?

Honestly I've been trying to improve everything but if I had to pick one I would say my pass rushing the most because it's something I take pride in and love to do. It's my favorite part of the game so I'm always trying to improve in that area especially because i didn't met me goal last year with the opportunities i had.

Do you have a favorite game from last season?

Yes, I would definitely say the Bolingbrook Game because aside from it being one of my best game, the atmosphere was great. The game was televised, the crowd was sold out, it was a close game, it was a very emotional game for me, and it was HOMECOMING! Plus i did alot of different things and moved to a bunch of positions that game so the challenge was really fun.

This is your Senior season coming up, What mark do you want to leave on this program?

I want to break school records. I want to be a player that's talked for years and years after i leave like the Harley-Hamptons, Kendrick Pryor, or Justin Hall. I want to set the bar even higher than its already been set for generations on not only for how to play, but how to carry yourself as a man, and to have the right mindset when it comes to putting in the time on the field, in the film room, in the weight room, and most importantly in the classroom. But most of all, I want to be apart of the team that leaves the school, the program, and the community, with that trophy that hasn't been brought back since 1995.

Homewood Flossmoor has always been able to recoup its losses to graduation, Any new players we need to made aware of ?

Definitely, I mean everybody knows 2019 DE Isaiah Coe, NG Caveon Harris, DE Charlie Brooks, CB Wynston Russell, S Kellen Williams, RB Leon Tanna, WR Maurion Scott, TE Jack Schmitz, and 2020 OL Denzel Bryant our returning starters but we gotta alot of young talent coming in and older guys coming back. Class of 2019 #47 Gerrell Jackson DB Dennis Hagan CB(Didn't play last year) #14 Javon Lee CB #39 Colin Russell DB #55 Luke Venegas LB(not sure if he's playing) #58 Alston Ellis DL #76 Erik White OT 6'8" 320 Jarod Thorton OL(Transfer) #86 Isaiah Stanback WR Issac Stanback 6'4 WR(basketball player) #15 Kahlid Lamarre QB/DB/ATH Class of 2020 alot of size and talent LaVoise McCoy DB Xavier McKinney LB Marcus #73 Marcus Harper II OL 6'4 270 #59 Michael Ford OL/DL 6'3 245 Donovan Dolittle WR D'Jon Ramsey-Lucas WR Andrew Koprowski TE Caleb Snoddy RB Khalid Kamal LB Alot DL and DB I dont know their names But there's alot more of them I'm forgetting but we got a lot of players from 2020, 2019, and even 2021. They're all big, fast, and athletic. There's also 2022 RB/LB Malyk Jones.

What do you want to major in College and why?

Engineering because that's where the money is going to be at in the future and because math comes easy to me. I also want to major in physical education and take other classes needed to become coach and A.D. because if i cant make it to the NFL or maybe even the CFL or AFL, then im going to be involved in football through coaching because I love the game.
