Q & A With Class of 2019 Morris Playmaker Austin Hatcher RB

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

Austin Hatcher 6'1 200 RB Class of 2019 Morris

Coach Big Pete's Take

Austin Hatcher is that Morris player, tough-nosed and disciplined. With his size, he actually has great speed and an ability for finding gap and making defenders miss. Its going to be interesting in watching how Austin catching ability improves this season.

Austin Hatcher what schools have you been talking to?

I have been in contact with Bryant University, Culver-Stockton College, and a few division 3 schools. I hope to connect with more schools this summer at camps.

What is one thing that College Coaches should know about you?

I think every college coach should know about my work ethic and my will to prepare. I strongly believe that the game is won in the off season. I also believe that if you dont put in the work in the off season it will show.

What is one thing you need to improve in your game?

I need to work on every aspect of my game to help my team make a state run in the 2018 season. The most important part of my game that I need to improve on is keeping my pad level low on contact as well as going through the line of scrimmage.

What does Morris Football mean to you?

Morris football means everything to me. The tradition is has can't be compared to any other school. The moment you put on a Morris jersey it completely changes your life for the better. It really brings the town together.

Favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory from last season was stepping out onto the state field at NIU. I made a promise to myself that I would do whatever it takes to get back on that field with my team one more time.

When the Class of 2022 come in that locker room, ready to put on that Morris Red... What is one thing they need to know before they join that Morris Program?

The one thing they need to know most is that hard work is the only way you will get where you want to be. Morris plays schools that are double and triple there size. We dont lower our expectations because of it. Instead, we embrace it. Once you become a Morris athlete you aren't just playing for your self anymore. You're playing for your team, school, and city. Lastly you must strive to become a role model for the kids at the elementary school.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA
