Talking With Lyons Township QB/DB JJ Dutton Class of 2019

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams.

JJ Dutton QB/DB Lyons Township Class of 2019 6'0 170

Coach Big Pete's Take

JJ Dutton is one the better multifaceted athletes in the state of Illinois, playing DB and QB. Makes great reads and excellent hip work when he covers receivers. Looking forward to watching him this coming season as he takes the helm at QB for LT.

JJ Dutton what schools have you been talking to?

I have talked to Cincinnati, Ball State, Augustana, South Dakota State, North Dakota, and Minnesota State Moorhead.

What motivates a JJ Dutton?

I love to work hard and working hard motivates me to be successful. My family and teammates motivate me by pushing me to be the best I can be. They motivate me because I play and work hard for the people that love and support me.

What is one thing in your game that you need to work on?

At QB, staying in the pocket and being mobile throughout the pocket is definitely something I need to work on. At CB, finish tackles and hit until I hear a whistle.

Favorite memory from last season?

My 100 yard INT returned for a touchdown.

How does it feel to take over as Starting QB?

I’m really excited about it. I can’t wait to lead this team and mentor the younger kids in the program. Ben Bryant has really taught me a ton about playing QB from last year and I can’t wait to see what he’s taught me and my work has in store for next year.

Any game that you are looking forward to this season?

Always Hinsdale Central for me. Played with the youth team and grew up with those guys. It always gets competitive between us on the field and I thrive on a competitive nature. It’ll be exciting to play them at home my senior year.

Is there one person from LT that College Coaches need to take a look at ?

Emmett Cushing no doubt. I have seen him bury kids on various amounts of plays since his sophomore year on varsity. He works hard on the field and in the classroom. He’s going to lead our O Line next year. He’s very tough and will have a great senior year.

What is one in-season goal for you in this coming season?

I want to be a captain of the team and the leader of the team. I want to be a threat on offense and defense and do whatever it takes for my team to win

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of Football In The IHSA

RESPECT THE GAME
