Ben Tarpey QB Evanston Class of 2019 6'2 165

COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE

Ben Tarpey is on my watchlist for a reason for the Class of 2019. His ability to make plays and his character are what make Ben tick. Still very raw, but with his poetential and growth is make him a player to watch out for

Ben Tarpey what schools have you been talking to?

I have been talking to some Ivy League schools like Princeton, Dartmouth, Harvard, and Columbia, and I have also talked to WashU and Miami of Ohio

So how is Evanston looking for 2018?

We are looking very good for next year because we have a lot of talented returning starters that have been playing Varsity since they were sophomores (Michael Axelrood, Izzy Lobin, Trenton Bertrand, Malik Ross, and Gerrad Lamour). With that being said, we still have a ton of work to put in this offseason and this summer if we want to be the team that we are capable of being

Favorite moment from last season?

My favorite moment from last season was when we played Glenbrook South on homecoming. We got brand new uniforms for that game and it was the best game our team played that year.

What is one thing that you feel you need to improve in your game?

This offseason I am going to work on speeding up my footwork so that I can improve my drop and playmaking abilities from the pocket.

What game are you looking forward to the most this season?

I always look forward to playing Maine South and New Trier, but this year I am really excited to go and play at Barrington because that is where my dad and his brothers grew up and played football

What is one thing you want college coaches to know about you?

I would want them to know that I am very self-motivated and hard working in anything that I do because my main goal is to help my team win games on Friday nights and bring a state championship to Evanston.
