Conversation With Lockport Jake Janeczko OL Class of 2019

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams
Jake Janeczko Lockport Class of 2019 Interior Linemen 6'2 240
COACH BIG PETE'S TAKE
Janeczko is one of the better run blocking centers in the state of Illinois. Still a little raw on the pass blocking from last season, but this young man is someone to take look at this season.
Jake Janeczko what schools have you been talking to?
As of right now I have gotten invited to a good amount of camps from schools like SMSU, Miami of Ohio, southern Arkansas. I have also gotten a ton of letters from all kinds of schools with information about the schools themselves.
Lockport Football has a great history of playing disciplined football, What does Lockport Football mean to you?
To me, Lockport Football has a certain atmosphere to it. The players, the coaches even the trainers act the same way. It’s a very competitive and intense feeling, but it is a disciplined and useful intensity. I think at Lockport we have a very special group of coaches and players that know the value of hard work. To me, Lockport football is all about intensity, dedication and focus.
What do you think you need to improve in your game?
I think the biggest thing I need to work on as a player is getting faster. In football speed kills, and at my size I think if I could get faster, that there isn’t a guy out there who could stop me. I don’t mean to sound cocky when I say that, but my whole life I’ve strived to be the best player on the field, and that’s the next step I need to take to get better
Name one goal for Lockport Football in this coming season?
I think our goal is the same goal everyone should have. We want to win a state championship. And as a team we where disappointed in the way our season went last year. I think for us seniors it’s our chance for redemption and a chance to prove to everyone we are a team to be reckon with.
Favorite Moment from Past Season?
My favorite moment from last season would have to be our first game against downers grove North. It was tight game until the fourth quarter when they fumbled and our cornerback Gabe Amegatcher picked it up and ran it 90 yards back for a Touchdown, pretty much ending the game.
What advice would you give to 8th grader ready join Lockport Football?
The best advice I’d give to them would be that they should be ready to work. They need to be ready to give their best at all times, and to keep the legacy of Porter football intact.
What should College Coaches know about you?
To be honest? I think college coaches should know that Football is my life, and that I would do anything to play this game for as long as I can. I eat sleep and breathe football, and I believe im not yet even close to my full potential as a player
