So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect for their roles on their respective teams.
Rock Island OT Logan Swartz 6'5 280 Class of 2019
Coach Big Pete's Take
Logan is still a raw offensive linemen, but what he has is a great on field IQ and ability to pick up defenders. Swartz will pick up the foot work next season, which is bad news for defensive linemen next season.
So Logan Swartz what schools have you been talking to?
Currently only Eastern Michigan and Miami of Ohio
Why do you like playing offensive line?
I like the grind and the grit of pushing someone against there will and watching my running back score a touchdown knowing me and my guys did our job.
What does Rock Island Football mean to you?
This is my first year playing for rocky and going to school here. The first thing I felt was family. As soon as football players heard of me transferring they quickly made me feel at home. Rocky has a very rich history and I’m glad to be apart of it.
What is one thing that college coaches need to know about you?
I am a very self motivated and dedicated person. I just want to play the sport of football.
What is one thing that you are looking forward to this coming season?
I feel this team next year has something very special. Everyone has the same mindset and goal. Starting from our Coach Hammer all the way down to the freshman. Every morning we have energy in the weight room.
What do you feel that you could improve on your game?
Currently this offseason I’m working everything strength, hands, stance, etc. but mostly my speed and agility
Name me one player from Rock Island that coaches should look out for next season
Left tackle Kobe Rios 6’5 290
