Jake Anderson how was your 2019 season?
We had a great season! Our JV team only had one loss while playing some bigger NIC 10 schools, Hononegah and Gulford, and our varsity team made it to second round of playoffs, which was a first for everyone in the program.
What does football mean to you?
Football has been a huge part of my life since I was 4 years old. I've always loved the feeling of being part of a team and the adrenaline rush right I get right before a game.
What should college coaches know about you?
I am a team player above all else. I am very hardworking and also willing to put in the extra time. Not only am I dedicated in sports but also in my academics. I will be graduating high school with my associates degree as well.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
The combination of my strength and speed off the line of scrimmage help to make me an efficient pass rusher while also controlling the run game. As a leader on the team, I also try to encourage my teammates in the weight room and on the field.
What are your feelings about the IHSA announced football schedule?
BEST NEWS EVER! I am so excited to have a season, even if it is a shortened one. My teammates and I have been working so hard in this extended offseason, and are very excited to be able to get on the field again.
